A beautiful article, but things are much more complex — which I’m sure we can agree on. For many psychotherapists, for instance, the idea that we experience emotions only “in the head,” without connection to ourselves as embodied beings, is not associated with maturity but rather with a disconnection from one’s own body (as emphasized in body-oriented psychotherapies), from lived experience (as in Gestalt therapy and the “here and now” principle), or with the use of certain defense mechanisms (such as intellectualization and isolation of affect in depth-psychological approaches).
